We have all fantasized about queens and princesses and watched a ton of films that portray these women with elegance and panache. Their royalty, the stance and poise is something we all have been privy to, so when designers Shantanu & Nikhil brought forth their modern day Raj-Kumari, I was excited to be a part of the troupe showcasing their designs. The concept of the Raj-Kumari rides on the complexities that a modern-day millennial woman encompasses and the personality that she holds. Playful, spontaneous, articulate and composed, women are fierce, independent and totally badass. The Raj-Kumari represents this modern-day woman, someone like all of us, a woman who is bold, speaks her mind and is ferocious in her way of living life. She knows what she wants and knows how to get it.
The AW’ 19 collection is a mixture of contemporary hues, dramatic silhouettes that make for voluminous ball gowns, lehengas and even eclectic menswear. My look is an ombre lehenga which is feminine yet fierce, bold and vivacious in its style. The colour drew me instantly and the sheer neckline keeps it simple, feminine and chic. The lehenga itself is luxuriously curated, keeping in mind weight and drapes. The flowy ethereal stance of the lehenga grabs your attention the fastest. We added a bit of metal to add the essential edge and drama to the look. Absolutely fierce and yet so chic, enjoy the pictures xx
