Of late I had been really stressed and nervous about my juries, but that passed in no time. I kept my positive vibe strong and gave my best. It makes me think about how time flies and how I've come up to where I am today and how it all started for me. I will surely do a post on that soon but until then, here's my travel story.
And this time, it's Dubai!
Since my trip to Dubai was already planned, I could unfortunately, only attend two days of the Lakmé fashion week. Nevertheless, I am happy because I needed a getaway! So Dubai is a place where a shopaholic can never get bored but only if he or she's not broke. Ha-ha! This is the second time I visited Dubai. My first trip was an architectural study trip with a couple of college friends. Though it was fun, I had to stick to the timings, work according to schedules and so it wasn’t really like a vacation. But this time, it was totally opposite; I was free, relaxed and could do my own thing!
I went along with my mum and a couple of her close friends. Yes, with all the ladies (shopaholics actually :P) it was pure paradise for all of us! Ha-ha. Let's talk about the weather first? The first day it was drizzling and so the weather was cool and pleasant! The first thing I did was bought a jacket for myself and so did my mom since it was freezing. Yes! That cold, and weren't really prepared for the rain. We were lucky enough to have that kinda weather for all 5 days; almost felt like I was in Europe. The temperature was between 18 – 22 Degrees Celsius. Pleasant & perfect! But for me it was cold because I believe those who reside in Bombay are so used to the heat that even a little drop in the temperature makes them feel cold. Don’t you agree on this?
Well, ofcourse we saw all the Dubai attractions like Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeria beach, Gold Souk, Meena Bazar, Zabeel Palace, At the top - Burj Kalifa, Water adventures at Atlantis The Palm, Dessert Safari, did a dinner on the cruise and ofcourse the malls there! One of the days our drive was to Abu Dhabi city, to visit the Sheikh Zayed’s Grand Mosque and for some fun at the Ferrari World ofcourse. Dude, there are these two rides that I recommend every person who goes to the Ferrari World should do - Formula Rossa & Flying Aces. They were so much fun!
In terms of shopping, don't even ask about how much I've shopped. Starting with some sneakers from Adidas Originals to clothes from H&M then to VS, F21, Sephora & others. You name it, I bought it. Though most of the brands you will now find in India, but what differs is the collection! Probably what they have now in store would be seen in the Indian market almost after 6 months. So I shopped, shopped & shopped! I don't even know why I packed my bag because I actually wore the outfits that I purchased from there.
The malls in Dubai are hugeee, I visited the Outlet Mall there which is pretty good. They have like amazing offers going on across all brands, so a lot to explore! There’s a lot of walking though. But that was good in a way since it was the only source of exercise for me. Haha! Also I have eaten a lot there...I miss the food man!
Anyway, I can just go on writing about this since there's actually so much that I want to say. But I'll stop here and directly skip to my outfits for each day. I kinda did two to three changes each day according to the places we were visiting. Comfort is the first thing I look for while travelling.
As I was in Dubai, I also collaborated with a Dubai based designer brand called SO SHRU. Their outfits are so bold, structured yet so feminine. They are into contemporary clothing which defines class & elegance! You can get a glance of some of their fun & quirky pieces in this post. :)
Now I'll talk a little about what I thought was not worth doing is - Dessert Safari, this is because I personally don't enjoy this as I get motion sick, but you should definitely try it once because others really enjoyed doing it. I enjoyed the bike rides though! For me everything was for the second time as I did all of it before. But do skip the camp after the safari; I really thought it was boring plus the food was so bleh! Like literally, I kinda felt stuck in the middle of nowhere. But I got to see such an amazing sunset, like something I have never seen before, which was really magical. That’s all about it.
If you visit AT THE TOP, Burj Khalifa, avoid visiting during the peek hours, or may be in the evening because then you'll have to stand in a never ending queue and you don't want to do that ever, trust me!
I also visited Miraj the museum at Abu Dhabi, which is something I personally feel one should skip since It wasn’t that good, but again this is just an opinion.
So yea that's all about it, let's start with what I wore in Dubai! :)
